 Tomato soup is one of the best basic fat burning soups to eat simply
because it is a low-energy density food.

    4 cups chopped fresh tomatoes
    1 slice onion
    4 whole cloves
    2 cups chicken broth
    2 tablespoons butter
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons white sugar, or to taste

  1. In a stockpot, over medium heat, combine the tomatoes, onion, cloves and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, and gently boil for about 20 minutes to blend all of the flavors. Remove from heat and run the mixture through a food mill into a large bowl, or pan. Discard any stuff left over in the food mill.
  2. In the now empty stockpot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to make a roux, cooking until the roux is a medium brown. Gradually whisk in a bit of the tomato mixture, so that no lumps form, then stir in the rest. Season with sugar and salt, and adjust to taste.

1. Cut up onions, peppers, cabbage, and celery.

2. Put everything in large pot.

3. Cook until tender (I do it for like 1 and a half hours), stirring occasionally.

  • ½ cup of beans
  • ½ cup of lentils

  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • ¼ head of cabbage
  • 2 red bell peppers
  1. The night before you prepare the soup, soak the three types of legumes in individual pots.
  2. Drain the water come morning, and put them on the stove to boil all together.
  3. Drop in a whole potato, as well as a whole onion and head of garlic – leaving the peel on.
  4. The legumes will need to cook for at least 4 hours, or until you see that the peas and beans have split.
  5. Drain the water from the legumes, and use a slotted spoon to scoop out the garlic, potato, and onion.
  6. Place another pot on the stove with the broth to boil, and add the legumes into the broth.
  7. Dice the onions to add to the soup, along with the carrots, cabbage, and bell peppers.
